Mary, once a household employee for popular highlife/Afrobeats musician Kuami Eugene, has taken an inspiring leap by venturing into music.

News of Mary’s career shift follows her earlier departure from Eugene’s household, which was met with speculation about the reasons behind it.

Mary shared that she was let go for returning late from an errand, upsetting the artist.

She subsequently opened up about her time as a house help, mentioning a monthly salary of Ghc400.

This sparked diverse reactions online, prompting a response from Kuami Eugene himself. In another interview, Mary even revealed experiencing fainting spells due to lack of food while working for him.

Though their professional paths diverged, a lingering warmth persisted between the once-employed maid and the singer known for his “Monica” hit, sparking rumours of a deeper connection.

Regardless, Mary’s musical aspirations have taken centre stage, and her journey from housekeeper to hopeful hitmaker is capturing hearts and sparking curiosity.
