Teachers and qualified non-teaching staff of the Ghana Education Service (GES) who have not yet received their laptop computers under the government’s One Teacher – One Laptop Initiative are urged to generate their collection code by dialling *790*555#.
A statement by the manufacturing firm in Accra on Wednesday urged all such teachers and non-teaching staff to contact ICT coordinators in their respective regions or districts for assistance in receiving their laptops.
The statement explained that although nearly 96% of all beneficiary teaching and non-teaching staff of GES have received their laptops, the company is intensifying its efforts to ensure all remaining beneficiaries across the country take advantage of the initiative as the nationwide distribution concludes.
The company indicated that the creation of the collection shortcode is for audit purposes and to ensure that only eligible teaching and non-teaching staff are served.
Teachers in the Ashanti, Greater Accra, North East, Upper West, Upper East, Northern, and Savannah Regions are to activate their shortcode *790*555# and contact their ICT coordinators from Thursday, July 25th, to collect their laptops.
Teachers and non-teaching staff in the remaining 10 regions are to follow the same process starting July 30th, 2024.
