The flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Bernard Mornah, is demanding a forensic audit of the nomination forms of all qualified presidential candidates for the December 7 elections.
This follows a legal action against the Electoral Commission (EC) over his disqualification from the presidential race.
The EC explained that Bernard Mornah, together with 10 other presidential aspirants were disqualified from participating in the December elections due to their failure to correct errors on their nomination forms.
Speaking in an interview with Citi News, Bernard Mornah said the challenges that the other 10 candidates faced upon which grounds they were disqualified are known and do not constitute grievous mistakes that should have resulted in disqualification.
“No presidential candidate submitted a CID report. I say this with the vim at my command. Myself and my running mate, we did. So that is why I am calling for a forensic audit of all the other people that the EC qualified, of their forms.
“What my friends in the PPP, the difficulties they were having, I know. What my friends in the CPP, and the difficulties they were having, I know. What my friends in the Movement and the New Force, I know.
“They also know if I had any challenges and we know the specific issues. The court should tell the Electoral Commission that I am a qualified candidate for Elections 2024 and they should put me on the ballot. It is as simple as that.”
