The Presidential Candidate of the Movement for Change, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, has announced a comprehensive plan focusing on 15 thematic areas to transform the Greater Accra Region into one of the top five best-structured cities in Africa.

In his proposal, Kyerematen emphasized plans to overhaul Accra’s transportation network, enhance traffic management, improve waste disposal systems, and decongest the Central Business District.

These reforms, he explained, are part of his vision to address the region’s pressing urban challenges.

Speaking to the press during his Greater Accra caravan tour, Kyerematen shared that his “Greater Accra Regeneration Initiative” (GARI) aims to revamp the capital city by 2030.

He expressed confidence that, if elected, this initiative would turn Accra into a well-organized and livable city for its residents.

“It’s a 15-point agenda of the Redevelopment of the Greater Accra Region, and I have strategically branded it as a GARI project to make Accra one of the top five cities in Africa by the year 2030.

“This is consistent with the strategic objectives of the Great Transformational Plan (GTP) of the Movement for Change. Accra is the capital city of Ghana.

“The implementation of the GARI Project will involve a review and alignment of all ongoing government projects including donor-funded projects aimed at the redevelopment of the city of Accra.”
