Independent Presidential Candidate Nana Kwame Bediako has launched his groundbreaking Galamsey Manifesto during the Real State of the Nation Address on November 30.
The manifesto proposes a bold plan to tackle illegal mining (galamsey) and its devastating effects on Ghana’s environment. Bediako outlined strategies targeting foreign interests, political cartels, and local operators behind galamsey, including a $4.5 billion investment in water purification and sustainable mining technologies.
The manifesto is part of Bediako’s broader 12 Pillars for Economic Freedom, aimed at industrializing Ghana’s 16 regions and fostering economic independence. Highlighting agricultural potential in the Eastern, Ashanti, Bono, and Northern regions, he called for investments in logistics, infrastructure, and regional industries to transform Ghana’s economy.
On his nationwide tour of 276 constituencies, Bediako encountered stories of resilience amid poverty and neglect.
He launched community initiatives, including boreholes, farms, and other support programs, while advocating for better living conditions for security personnel and the inclusion of people with disabilities in national development.
Bediako also emphasized the role of the media in rebuilding Ghana, urging journalists to reclaim their independence from political influence.
He concluded with a call for unity and collaboration across partisan lines, presenting his independent candidacy as a path toward a more inclusive and accountable governance system.
The manifesto and broader vision position Nana Kwame Bediako as a candidate offering transformative leadership for a sustainable and industrialized Ghana.
