Alhaji Moro Sadick Kutia, the engineer responsible for constructing the Sataso Bridge in the Asante Mampong Municipality of the Ashanti Region, has revealed that his company has not received the necessary documentation to commence work, leading to delays in construction.

The bridge, which partially collapsed on October 19, 2024, serves as a crucial link between key farming communities such as Yeji, Atebubu, and Ejura to Asante Mampong.

Its role in facilitating transportation and economic activities makes its deterioration a serious concern.

Currently, the remaining half of the bridge is on the verge of collapse, posing a significant risk to commuters and threatening livelihoods in the area.
Speaking to Citi News on March 20, Alhaji Kutia expressed his dedication to the project despite the challenges, emphasizing his commitment to the people.

He further disclosed that he has received assurances from the Chief Executive for Roads and Highways and the Regional Ministry that the necessary paperwork will be completed soon.
“I do not have any official documentation, but I am doing this out of love for my people so they can have a proper road to use. The contract was not formally awarded to me, but we have something called an emergency.

“I have been asked to proceed with the work, but I have not received any official letter yet. They are currently working on the documentation. I have been given the assurance by the Chief Executive for roads and highways and the regional minister to go back to the site to work for they will make sure things are done the right way and the contract is awarded to me “he said.
