The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) have announced the extension of operational hours at two major domestic airports—Prempeh I International Airport (PIA) in Kumasi and Tamale International Airport (TIA).

The extension takes effect from Saturday, June 1, 2025.

According to a joint public notice issued by the two aviation bodies, Prempeh I International Airport will now operate until 11:00 p.m., with extended hours running from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m, while Tamale International Airport will also see an extension from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The GCAA has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) to notify all airlines of the changes. Domestic airlines have also been encouraged to increase the frequency of their operations to and from both airports.

The general public is advised to take note of the revised operational hours and make the necessary adjustments when planning travel.

This initiative forms part of broader efforts to enhance air travel convenience and connectivity across Ghana, especially in the northern and Ashanti regions.
