The President of the Ghana Fintech and Payments Association, Martin Kwame Awagah, has encouraged businesses to embrace financial technology solutions, emphasising their transformative impact on how people live, transact, and access financial services.

Speaking during Week 4 of the #CitiBusinessFestival 2025 On-Air Series on the topic “How Fintech Is Changing the Business Landscape,” Awagah noted that fintech has evolved from a trendy term to a powerful driver of economic growth, financial inclusion, and business development, particularly in emerging markets like Ghana.

“Today, in Ghana and across Africa, we have a thriving youthful population,” he said.

“This demographic represents a significant portion of our society and is very tech-savvy. They’re not interested in long, traditional processes, like going to the bank. They want convenience, speed, and access at their fingertips. And that’s exactly what fintech delivers.”

Awagah stressed that the needs of this young, digital-first generation present a clear opportunity for businesses to innovate and remain competitive by leveraging fintech solutions.
