The Dansoman Circuit Court has adjourned to July 31, 2025, the case involving Singaporean businessman Toh You Kang, who is accused of defrauding Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Emmanuel Ashie Moore, of $3million.

The adjournment is to allow the Attorney General’s Department to offer legal advice on the case docket.

Toh You Kang has been charged with defrauding by false pretence.

According to court documents, the accused allegedly approached Mr. Ashie Moore with a proposal to establish a cable business in Ghana.

Based on this proposal, the complainant reportedly secured a Chinese investment partner who transferred $3 million to the accused to facilitate the venture.

However, it is alleged that the accused failed to transfer the funds to Mr. Ashie Moore as agreed.

The police say Mr. Toh admitted to receiving the money but claims it was not intended to be handed over to the complainant.

Meanwhile, counsel for the accused, Cephas Boyuo, informed the court on Wednesday that his client had been granted bail by the High Court. As a result, he withdrew a previous bail application filed at the Circuit Court.

The High Court granted the accused bail on June 25, 2025, set at GH¢10 million with two sureties, one of whom must be justified. Mr. Toh has also been ordered to deposit his travel documents with the court.
