The Ghana Police Service has arrested four persons claiming to be national security operatives who tried to stop a demolition exercise by the Ayawaso West Assembly.
The four individuals posing as national security operatives tried to stop the demolition of an unauthorised construction project near the Bawaleshie traffic light after developers ignored warnings to halt.
The operation was led by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Dr Michael Mensah, and backed by armed police officers.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, October 22, Dr Mensah indicated that the developers had previously been warned to halt the project, but they ignored the directive.
He also cautioned that anyone who undertakes construction without the necessary permits will face the full rigours of the law.
