WPP Scangroup PLC has announced the appointment of Ghanaian marketing executive Brayie Akua Owusu-Nartey as the new Group Chief Executive Officer and CEO of Ogilvy Africa.

The appointment is effective November 17, 2025 and marks a major leadership transition for one of Africa’s most influential marketing and communications networks.

In a statement issued on October 21, 2025, and signed by Company Secretary Winnefred Jumba, the board expressed confidence in the ability of the new Group CEO to lead the group into its next phase of growth.

“The Board is confident that the company will benefit from her skills, knowledge, extensive leadership experience, and industry expertise,” the statement noted.

With over 18 years of experience spanning Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia, Akua Owusu-Nartey has built a strong reputation in integrated communications, brand transformation and business growth.

She is recognized for her results-driven leadership and success in revitalising underperforming businesses.

Prior to her appointment, she held senior roles within WPP Scangroup, Ogilvy Africa and Publicis West Africa, where she led cross-functional teams and drove client-focused innovation.

Owusu-Nartey holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Central University College, Ghana, and an Executive MBA from Hult International Business School, UK.

Her appointment not only reinforces WPP Scangroup’s commitment to leadership excellence but also signals a growing trend of African women breaking barriers in corporate leadership.

She is expected to prioritise strategic growth, digital transformation and talent development across the group’s network.

Headquartered in London, WPP PLC remains the world’s largest advertising and public relations company by revenue, operating across communications, experience, commerce and technology.
