A worker at Segu Farms has been crashed to death by a vehicle at Potsin Junction in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region.
According to eyewitnesses a Sprinter passenger bus with registration GS 5446- 22 knocked down the deceased Kofi Eduful who is in his 50s while attempting to cross the road which is under construction around 7pm on Wednesday, December 10.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba.
Ebo Anderson, a local road safety campaigner and leader of the Potsin Emergency Response Team told Citi News that “the crash occurred as a result of blurry vision caused by thick dust. It was around dusk, and the atmosphere was filled with thick dust because the contractor failed to water the road. So, the driver did not spot the pedestrian and crashed him to death”.
Police have since arrested the driver and had the vehicle impounded at the Potsin Police Station.

In another development, driver of a Mitsubishi Outlander with registration GW 8598-24 is also seriously injured and receiving treatment at the Trauma and Specialist Hospital after crushing into a trench dug by the contractor working on the Kasoa-Winneba Road project at Potsin Junction.

Eyewitnesses suspect the driver might have lost control as a result of the deteriorated nature of the road and unclear vision.
Following the crash, the driver was swiftly recused and rushed to the hospital where he’s currently undergoing treatment.
