The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the completion of arrangements for the promotion of qualified teachers from the Deputy Director rank to the higher ranks of Director II and Director I.

According to GES, a dedicated committee comprising representatives from the Ghana Education Service, the Public Services Commission, the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, and PricewaterhouseCoopers submitted its final report after extensive consultations with all relevant stakeholders.

Teacher unions also provided significant input during the review process.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, January 28, GES further stated that the first call for applications and the accompanying aptitude test for promotion to the Director II and Director I ranks is expected to be announced by the end of the first quarter of this year.

Significantly, promotions to these ranks will no longer be limited by the availability of office vacancies, a change aimed at fulfilling a commitment made by President John Dramani Mahama to teachers.

GES assured the public of communicating further details and guidelines through official GES channels only, emphasising transparency and adherence to formal procedures.
