Greater Accra Regional Minister, Linda Ocloo, has clarified her presence at the Ayawaso East constituency during Saturday’s parliamentary primary, insisting that she was there strictly in her official capacity and not to campaign for any candidate.
In a statement released on Sunday, February 8, 2026, Ocloo addressed a short video circulating on social media, which she said had been deliberately taken out of context and manipulated to advance a misleading narrative.
She explained that the footage originated from an interview conducted during the Ablekuma North Elections and had been selectively clipped to distort facts.

Ocloo emphasised that her visit to the election grounds was in her role as Head of Regional Security, aimed at observing proceedings, assessing the situation, and ensuring peace and law and order. She noted that she attended in funeral attire and had not visited the constituency at any point after the burial and prayer service of the late Member of Parliament until the election day.
The minister also denied claims that she distributed ice chests or other items to a former constituency chairman who was contesting in the election, describing such reports as false and malicious.
Ocloo condemned the circulation of misleading content and urged the public and media practitioners to rely only on verified and complete information.
She reiterated her commitment to transparency, responsible leadership, and truthful public communication, warning that further attempts to mislead the public would be treated with seriousness.
