Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak, the Minister of the Interior, has paid a working visit to Ankara, in Turkey, where he held bilateral talks with his Turkish counterpart, Mustafa Çiftçi, to deepen cooperation between Ghana and Republic of Turkey.
The meeting, held on Sunday, February 15, 2026, focused on strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing collaboration in emergency response systems, internal security, and migration management.
Both sides explored joint approaches to disaster preparedness, tackling organised crime, counter-terrorism efforts, combating drug trafficking, and addressing irregular migration.
The minister was accompanied by the Controller-General of the Ghana Immigration Service, Samuel Basintale Amadu, the Director-General of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department, Gabriel Prince Waabu, as well as officials from the Ministry of the Interior and the National Disaster Management Organisation.
Officials say the engagement forms part of ongoing efforts to build strategic partnerships that will improve security coordination and institutional capacity between the two countries.
