Citi FM and Channel One TV have donated GH¢30,000 and essential supplies to the Baptist School Complex and Orphanage (BASCO) in Trotor, near Suhum, as part of the annual Easter Orphan Project.

The donation included bags of rice, cooking oil, beverages, toiletries, clothing, and educational materials, intended to support the children’s daily needs.

This generous gesture forms part of the stations’ annual Easter Orphan Project, an initiative aimed at spreading hope and providing sustained support to underprivileged communities across the country.

Speaking at the presentation, the Head of Administration for Citi FM and Channel One TV, Matthew Idun, explained that the stations’ continued commitment is driven by the visible progress of the children and the responsible use of previous donations over the years.

“We promised to come back because of what we see going on and because of the development going on. We see our children growing and we have seen a lot of improvement around here. We are so glad whenever we come here to see our kids and when some of them come with testimonies of getting jobs,” he said.

Receiving the items, the Founder and Director of BASCO, Reverend Victor Ofori-Amoah, expressed gratitude to the management of Citi FM and Channel One TV, assuring them that the resources would be used effectively to deliver the highest standard of care for the children.

“You have been here for 15 years now. We want to say thank you to Citi FM and Channel One TV for what you have done. We will take great care of it and make sure everything is done according to your heart so that anytime you come, you will get great testimonies,” he said.

A BASCO alumnus, Aikins Kumi who recently completed national service and has returned to mentor younger residents, shared how the ongoing partnership with Citi FM and Channel One TV has made a lasting impact on the orphanage.

“It wasn’t easy here at first but we managed. After JHS, I went to Suhum Presec to further my education after which I had the opportunity to study at the University of Ghana. I decided to come back here and help the kids grow well and have good education and become like me,” he said.
