Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has launched the Students Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (SEED) Programme at the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA), marking a major step in government’s efforts to promote youth entrepreneurship.

The SEED Programme, a flagship initiative, is designed to nurture a new generation of student entrepreneurs by equipping them with the skills and support needed to transform innovative ideas into sustainable businesses.

The initiative builds on the Adwumawura Programme and aligns with the broader vision of President John Dramani Mahama to address youth unemployment and expand opportunities for young people across the country.

Implemented by the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) under the leadership of Eric Adjei, in partnership with the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), the programme underscores government’s commitment to placing enterprise at the centre of youth development.

Speaking at the launch, the Vice President commended the Ministry of Education, the Ministry for Youth Development and Empowerment, NEIP, and other stakeholders for their collaboration in bringing the initiative to life.

She also congratulated the first cohort of beneficiaries and urged them to take full advantage of the opportunity to develop viable enterprises and contribute meaningfully to national development.

The SEED Programme is expected to provide a structured pathway for students to innovate, create jobs, and drive economic growth, particularly among the youth.
