The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) successfully responded to two separate emergency incidents in the Volta Region, rescuing accident victims and preventing a domestic fire from spreading to nearby properties.
According to GNFS, personnel from the Peki Fire Station were dispatched to the incidents on Wednesday, May 13, at Ayensu and Asikuma Zongo, respectively.
The first incident involved a vehicular accident along the Peki–Asikuma Road involving a SINO tipper truck.

Firefighters reportedly arrived at the scene and rescued two male victims trapped in the accident.
Although details surrounding the cause of the crash remain unclear, the timely intervention of the fire officers helped ensure the victims were safely removed from the scene.
Later in the day, the crew responded to a domestic fire outbreak at Asikuma Zongo, where a three-bedroom thatch-roofed house had been completely engulfed in flames.

Firefighters managed to confine and extinguish the blaze before it could spread to nearby structures, preventing what could have escalated into a much larger disaster within the community.
The cause of the fire has not yet been disclosed.
The Ghana National Fire Service has meanwhile urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report emergencies promptly to enable rapid response and help protect lives and property.
