The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Korle Klottey Municipal Assembly, Alfred Allotey-Gaisie, together with heads of departments and units, has embarked on a revenue mobilisation exercise across markets and transport terminals within the municipality.
The exercise is aimed at improving Internally Generated Funds (IGF) collection, promoting compliance among ratepayers, and strengthening revenue administration systems within the assembly.
The exercise, which took place within the Tema Station area, was also used to engage rate payers through public education while mobilising revenue for the Assembly.
The team interacted with traders, drivers, transport operators, market leaders, and other stakeholders on the importance of timely payment of tolls, rates, and levies towards supporting development projects and improving service delivery within the municipality.
The initiative forms part of measures being implemented by the Assembly to address the continuous decline in revenue generation in the various lorry parks and markets, as well as enhance accountability, transparency, and efficiency in revenue collection.
