The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has dismissed reports suggesting that it is selling off its hotel investments, describing the claims as false and misleading.
In a statement issued on May 22, 2026, SSNIT clarified that recent advertisements published in the Daily Graphic and Ghanaian Times were not invitations to sell any hotel assets or seek buyers for its hospitality properties.
According to the Trust, the advertisements were solely intended to invite qualified consulting firms to provide professional advisory services for Golden Beach Hotels Limited, which oversees La Palm Royal Beach Resort, Elmina Beach Resort, and Busua Beach Resort.
SSNIT explained that the consultants are expected to conduct an independent evaluation of the company’s operations and performance, recommend practical turnaround and operational improvement strategies, and develop a five-year business plan aimed at strengthening long-term viability, competitiveness, and profitability.
“The engagement is therefore a business improvement and strategic planning exercise intended to enhance operational performance and preserve value, not a divestment process,” the statement noted.
SSNIT further emphasized that Labadi Beach Hotel, one of its flagship hospitality investments, continues to perform strongly and remains a strategic asset within its investment portfolio.
SSNIT added that it is actively supporting the hotel’s expansion and growth drive to improve its long-term value and contribution to the pension scheme.
Management also assured contributors, pensioners and the public that all decisions regarding its hospitality investments are guided by sound investment principles, rigorous performance evaluation and operational sustainability.
The Trust urged the public to disregard claims that it is selling its hotels, reiterating its commitment to prudently managing contributors’ funds and safeguarding the sustainability of the pension scheme.
