Setornam Koku Dedey, a former National Science & Maths Quiz (NSMQ) contestant for St. Peter’s SHS, has been named the Overall Best Graduating Student of Academic City University’s Class of 2026 after achieving an outstanding average score of 91.91 and a perfect CGPA of 4.0 in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
His achievement marks a historic milestone as he becomes the first student in Academic City University’s history to graduate with a perfect 4.0 CGPA.
Setornam’s academic excellence has been evident throughout his journey. In 2022, he earned a fully funded Presidential Scholarship worth $40,000 to study at Academic City University.
The same year, he was named Overall Best Candidate and Best Candidate in Numeracy in Season 5 of The Sharks, Ghana’s all-round academic quiz competition.
He also distinguished himself internationally by scoring 1590 out of 1600 on the SAT, placing him in the 99th percentile globally.
Now, after earning straight A’s throughout his undergraduate studies, Setornam has capped off his remarkable academic journey as the valedictorian of Academic City University’s Class of 2026.
His story is one of consistency, excellence, and determination, inspiring students across Ghana and beyond.
