The Upper West Regional Minister, Charles Lwanga Puozuing Esq., has called on Ghanaians, particularly members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to uphold the principles of probity, accountability, transparency, and social justice in the aftermath of the commemoration of the June 4 uprising.

A speech delivered on behalf of the Minister by the Upper West Regional Political Coordinator of the NDC, Thomas Mwinibahaara, described June 4 as not only a day of remembrance but also a moment to reflect on the values that have inspired generations to demand responsible leadership and accountability in public life.

Addressing the gathering during the commemoration, Mr. Mwinibahaara emphasised the historic role played by the late former President Jerry John Rawlings in championing the principles of integrity and accountability through the June 4 Revolution.

“The June 4 Revolution was a bold statement against corruption, abuse of power, indiscipline, and the neglect of the ordinary Ghanaian. June 4 ideals are still relevant in Ghana’s democracy,” the Minister noted.

According to the Regional Minister, the revolutionary ideals remain central to the political philosophy of the NDC and must continue to guide the conduct of public servants and party members.

The Regional Treasurer of the Upper West Branch of the United Cadres Front (UCF), James Jedu, called for renewed commitment to revolutionary ideals during the June 4 commemoration, urging members to uphold truth, resilience, and collective responsibility.

Mr. Jedu stressed that the continuation of revolutionary principles depends on the active participation of individuals, insisting that the movement must remain anchored in its historical purpose and guiding values.

He emphasised that the revolution carries a lasting legacy that must be preserved and defended, noting that its impact remains visible and continues to justify its relevance in contemporary political discourse.

“The revolution will depend on you, and you, and you. We remain resolute, no matter what,” he stated, underscoring what he described as the enduring spirit of commitment required from members.
