Flood-ravaged Dansoman Junction road undergoes interim repairs

The Ablekuma North Municipal Assembly has begun temporary repair works on a deteriorating stretch of road at Dansoman Junction following recent flooding that left portions of the roadway damaged and difficult for motorists to navigate.

The Assembly is currently filling potholes with sand and stones to improve access and make the road motorable while efforts are made to secure a more permanent solution.

The intervention comes after floodwaters weakened sections of the road, disrupting vehicular movement and causing inconvenience to commuters and residents who use the busy route.

Sources at the Assembly told Citi News that the drainage infrastructure beneath the road has been compromised, contributing to recurring flooding and the rapid deterioration of the road surface.

Although plans have been developed to address the underlying drainage challenges and reconstruct the affected section of the road, funding for the project is yet to be secured.

In the meantime, authorities say the ongoing repair works are intended to provide temporary relief and ensure safer movement for road users as they await resources for a long-term intervention.
