A fourteen-year-old girl has died in Binaba in the Upper East Region after a young man reportedly broke into her room with a sharp object, cut off her underclothes and reportedly slept with her and killed her.

The deceased, Suleimana Matan Baba, was reportedly left at home alone after her parents attended a funeral at Gambaga in the North East Region, leaving her behind at the residence.

Narrating the incident, the victim’s father, who is a fisherman, indicated that his deceased daughter had already complained to her mother, indicating that a young man had attempted to rape her in the house on a different day.

The suspect, whom she mentioned as Kay 2, also reportedly went to the Kusanaba senior high school in attempt to rape female students but was apprehended by the students.

The family of the deceased say they are dissatisfied with what they described as a lack of action by the police in the area. They are, however, calling on the Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, to intervene to ensure justice prevails.
