‘Tell Ghanaians where Sedina Tamakloe is’ — Senyo Hosi to gov’t

Convenor of the One Ghana Movement, Senyo Hosi, has called on government to provide clarification on the whereabouts of former Chief Executive Officer of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu, amid growing public debate over her return to Ghana.

His comments follow reports of Sedina Tamakloe-Attionu’s extradition from the United States to Ghana on Tuesday, June 9, in connection with efforts to enforce a 10-year jail sentence imposed in relation to her case.

Speaking on The Big Issue on Channel One TV on Saturday, June 20, Senyo Hosi stressed the need for state institutions to be open and proactive in addressing any uncertainty surrounding her location and incarceration.

He argued that transparency in high-profile accountability cases is essential to sustaining public trust in the justice system, particularly in situations where past controversies have fuelled concerns about selective enforcement and fairness.

“They must take every step to prove to the people that accountability is being served. It doesn’t mean that she will be in jail forever.

“If people are doubting and have reason to believe that there is selective justice in this matter, the government must purge itself of that perception because the governance processes must be seen to be delivered.”

Senyo Hosi further noted that public confidence in governance is strengthened when authorities demonstrate openness, particularly in cases involving former public officials and allegations of financial misconduct.

He added that even the perception of secrecy or inconsistent enforcement could undermine the credibility of accountability efforts, urging state institutions to act decisively to dispel any doubts.
