Police officers from the Marine Police Unit are assisting ongoing rescue operations in parts of Accra that have been severely affected by flooding following heavy rainfall.
The officers are working in collaboration with personnel from sister security agencies and other emergency responders to evacuate stranded residents from inundated communities and move them to safety.

The coordinated response comes as torrential rains continue to cause widespread flooding across sections of the capital, leaving several areas impassable and trapping residents in their homes.

Police say rescue teams remain on the ground, prioritising the evacuation of vulnerable persons and ensuring that affected residents receive immediate assistance.

Persons still in need of support have been urged to contact emergency services using the following toll-free numbers:
- 112 — National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO)
- 191 / 18555 — Ghana Police Service
Residents have also been advised to remain vigilant and avoid moving through floodwaters as emergency operations continue.
