The Sentuo Group and the Eezzy Group Foundation have donated 10 fully equipped ambulances and a police operational pick-up vehicle to the Ghana Police Service to strengthen emergency healthcare and police operations across the country.
The donation, led by Sentuo Group Chairman Ningquan Xu and Mohammed Raii of the Eezzy Group Foundation, is expected to improve emergency response for police personnel and civilians, particularly in communities with limited access to ambulance services.
Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the Police Service, Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno said the ambulances would help save lives and improve healthcare delivery at police medical facilities.
“We say thank you so much for this donation. These ambulances are going to be used to save lives,” Mr. Yohuno said.
He announced that the ambulances would be distributed immediately to police hospitals and healthcare facilities across the country, with one vehicle specifically allocated to Tamale to enhance emergency medical services in Northern Ghana.
“The last time I was in Tamale, it was very difficult. Now I can tell them we have an ambulance,” he said.
The Inspector-General assured the donors that the Ghana Police Service had the personnel and logistical capacity to maintain the vehicles.
“We will distribute them immediately from Accra to the North. We have the men and the team to take good care of them,” he said.
Mr. Yohuno said the ambulances would strengthen the Police Service’s ability to respond to medical emergencies involving both officers and members of the public.
“This means it is going to do a lot for the Police Service—to save a lot of lives,” he said.
He added that the operational pick-up vehicle would also enhance police mobility and support crime-fighting efforts nationwide.
“What we are seeing today is going to increase the number of vehicles to fight crime. Fighting crime is for the people of this country. The Police are working hard every day to make sure Ghana becomes safe,” he said.
The Inspector-General described the donation as a significant contribution to government efforts to improve emergency healthcare and public safety.
“This is what you have done for Ghana. You have assisted Government and helped us to perform our work in a safer and more effective way,” he said.
He concluded by expressing the appreciation of the Police Administration to the donors.
“Thank you, Chairman Xu. Thank you, Mr. Mohammed Raii. This impressive and unbelievable support is highly appreciated,” he said.
