The Upper East Regional Minister, Akamugri Donatus Atanga, has commended the management of Citi FM and Channel One TV for their support towards the successful organisation of the Upper East Regional Development and Business Forum.
The three-day forum, organised by the Upper East Regional Coordinating Council, brought together government officials, development partners, investors, traditional leaders, and the private sector to develop the Prosperity through Enterprise, Agriculture and Regional Livelihoods (PEARL) Framework, a 10-year development blueprint for the region.
Speaking after the close of the forum, the Regional Minister expressed appreciation to Citi FM and Channel One TV for partnering with the Regional Coordinating Council to give the event national visibility.
He said the media organisations had demonstrated a genuine commitment to the development of the Upper East Region through their extensive coverage of the forum.
“I am very, very happy and grateful to the management of Citi FM and Channel One TV for the interest they have shown in the development of the Upper East Region.
“They have done an excellent job. In fact, what they have done has gone beyond what many of our local media houses have been able to do, and the people of the Upper East are full of praise for them.” he said.
Atanga expressed confidence that the media organisations would continue to grow from strength to strength and pledged the Regional Coordinating Council’s readiness to deepen its partnership with them.
“We want to assure them that we will continue to work with them as close partners. Whenever there is an opportunity for Citi FM and Channel One TV to support the development of the Upper East Region, we will gladly work with them, provided it is within the confines of the law.”
The Minister said strategic partnerships with credible media organisations are essential to attracting investment, promoting the region’s development agenda, and ensuring the successful implementation of the PEARL Framework.
