Raphael Dwamena: Napoli and Shakhtar to battle for Ghana striker

Italian Serie A side, Napoli and Ukrainian top flight outfit, Shakhtar Donetsk are set to go head to head for the signature of Ghana international Raphael Dwamena.

According to Italian media outlet, Calciomercato, Napoli have already sent in scouts to watch the 24 year old FC Zurich man while Shakhtar have monitored him for sometime now.

Last summer, Dwamena had a proposed move to English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion thwarted at the last minute due to medical complications.

He has since returned to the Swiss Super Lig side where he has notched 9 goals in 30 appearances in all competitions this season.

While the tally falls short of Dwamena’s prolific season last year where he scored  33 goals in 40 games for both Austria Listenau and FC Zurich in the 2016/2017 season, the former Red Bull Academy graduate continues to court interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

He could yet make a move when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
