Shatta Wale’s ‘Gringo,’ which gained much attention following its release a few weeks ago took the number one spot on Citi FM’s music chart show.

The song ousted Stonebwoy’s ‘Bawasaaba’ which topped the chart last week, but dropped to 3rd this week.

Number two on the chart for this week is Adiepena by Kidi.

‘Gringo’, already acclaimed by fans, gained even more recognition following the release of its video which cast over 20 international actors in what is arguably tagged as the most expensive video shot by any homegrown artiste from Africa.

The song, since its release, has received rave reviews, high ratings and airplay.

Citi Countdown is aired on Citi 97. 3 FM every Friday at 4pm. It is hosted by Jessica Opare Saforo and Sandister Tei.

The chart is generated from airplay of songs on radio.
