Executive Director of National Population Council asked to proceed on leave

The Board of the National Population Council has asked the Executive Director, Leticia Adelaide Appiah to proceed on leave.

A letter from the Board said, it will evaluate Leticia Appiah’s work to be able to make a decision and communicate to the appointing authority.

Dr. Appiah was also asked to prepare to hand over necessary documents to the Board Chairman by November 16, 2020.

Dr. Appiah was appointed as the Executive Director of the National Population Council for a four-year term which took effect from November 1, 2016.

In a letter signed by the Board Chairperson, Gladys Norley Ashitey on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, it was stated that her four-year term expired on October 31, 2020.

She was asked to proceed on terminal leave as the Board makes way to begin an evaluation of her performance in line with the terms of her appointment.

“In line with the terms of your appointment, this Board has initiated action to assess your performance during your term of service to enable it make appropriate recommendations to the Appointing Authority.”

“Whilst the assessment process is ongoing, you are expected to proceed on your terminal leave with immediate effect. You are expected to prepare and submit comprehensive handing-over notes to the undersigned by 16th November 2020. The Board wishes to express Its gratitude to you for the services you have rendered to the Council,” the letter added.
