The National Youth Wing of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has condemned the pro-NPP youth groups whose members forced the Chief Executive Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr. David Kolbila, out of his office.

A group calling itself the Concerned NPP Youth Coalition, along with the Kandahar Boys, are said to be behind the incident.

The Concerned NPP Youth Coalition’s spokesperson, said the CEO was incompetent and has also misused hospital funds and so they will not to allow him occupy his position.

But the NPP Youth Wing, in a statement signed by the NPP National Youth Organizer, Henry Nana Boakye, said the group’s actions were criminal.

“This is a criminal matter and we consequently call on the security agencies to bring the culprits to book. They should be made to face the full rigours of the law. The Party will not condone any act of illegality that will take the shine from the good works of H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.”

The statement also stressed that the NPP had no knowledge of the group’s actions.

“Our checks with the Northern Regional leadership of the party reveal that they had no prior knowledge of this action and could not have sanctioned same,” the statement said.

NPP YOUTH WING CONDEMNS THE ATTACK ON THE CEO OF THE TAMALE TEACHING HOSPITAL, CALLS FOR THE ARREST OF PERPETRATORS.

The National Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has noted with great concern the despicable act of thuggery which led to the removal of Dr. David Zaawumya Kolbila, the Chief Executive Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital from his office by a Youth group purported to be affiliated to the NPP.

We unequivocally condemn the actions of the Youth and disassociate the Youth Wing from any course they sought to advance with their distasteful conduct.

Our checks with the Northern Regional leadership of the party reveal that they had no prior knowledge of this action and could not have sanctioned same.

This is a criminal matter and we consequently call on the security agencies to bring the culprits to book. They should be made to face the full rigour of the law.

The Party will not condone any act of illegality that will take the shine from the good works of H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

I, therefore, admonish the Youth of our party to at all times resort to the Party’s structures and laid down procedure in addressing their grievances and never engage in actions that contravene the laws of our Country.

Henry Nana Boakye
(National Youth Organizer)
