On Tuesday, I learned about Impact Hub Accra’s collaboration with re:publica, and was moved to share how big of a deal this event is for local inventors, intellectuals, entrepreneurs, creatives, and the Ghanaian economy at large.

Sixty-one years ago, Nkrumah had a vision to industrialize Africa. Today, we’re not only far from industrialization but have lagged in a world of innovation. Thankfully, technology has leveled the playing field for Africa to achieve a digital revolution.

Each day, we hear stories of Ghanaian entrepreneurs, intellectuals, and agripreneurs impacting communities with their technology-enabled business solutions to problems that have hindered our development.

Impact Hub Accra is no stranger in the world of Digital Africa. For the past five years, it has provided Ghanaian entrepreneurs an enabling environment to ideate, experiment, and incubate their startups. This collaboration to bring re:publica to Africa is one of their many works to nurture and flaunt local talent.

re:publica Berlin is Europe’s largest internet and digital society conference with More than 19,500 participants from 80 countries with a specialty in economics, politics, business, hacker culture, NGOs, media, and marketing, as well as bloggers, activists, artists, and social media experts.

If you fall under this category, this a brilliant opportunity for you to share your work with your peers. If you are a policy maker, this is a great opportunity to step out of your office and engage the brilliant folks on the ground finding solutions to policy recommendations you’re drafting. If you are just a curious mind, this is a great way to network and meet people beyond the borders of Accra.

The event will take place in December, but registration is open now at https://accra18.re-publica.com/de. I will highly encourage those who are interested to get on board and take full advantage of the opportunity.
