Aro Dan Adjei, a Customs Officer who has now found his way into fulfilling what destiny has for him, has disclosed the pain the went through to become a musician.

According to him, the journey to becoming a musician has not been rosy.

He started singing from his childhood days till he completed secondary school when he moved to Accra to pursue his music career.

“Over in my, they used to call me Oheneba Kissi because I could sing all his songs, songs of Amakye Dede, Kojo Antwi, Daddy Lumba and others. So when I came to Accra, I went straight to Oheneba Kissi’s house for help but due to his tight schedule, he didn’t get time for me,” he said.

He said he then decided to look for Bishop Michael Osei Bonsu who was one of the gospel musicians he admired.

“I went to his house and he said to me, ‘son, you don’t sing my songs, you don’t even do gospel so how can I help you’? I then promised to do gospel music,” he narrated.

He said later, Bishop then introduced him to Goodies who also took him to Bandex. Few months into the recording, things went bad. He kept waiting and he had a call into Customs Service.

Dan said after he prayed to God to let his dream of becoming a musician come through, he listened to his plea and granted his wish.

He has released his second album titled ‘Hossana,’ a song meant to magnify God for His perfect guidance and unmerited favour.

The ‘Hossana’ track features gospel diva Empress Gifty Osei and the Ewurade Sane also features Nana Yaw Asare.

He released his maiden album titled ‘Memfata’ in 2016 just after he had completed his Bachelor of Law degree from GIMPA and obtaining Bachelor of Management Studies from the University of Cape Coast in the year 2011.

After struggling to make an entry to the Customs Excise and Preventive Service, now Ghana Revenue Authority – Customs division in the year 2002, he promised God to dedicate all his songs to God.
