The Green Leaf Foundation (Ahaban) over the weekend screened over 200 people, including children at Anyaa in the Greater Accra Region as part of their Ahaban Mobile Shelter program.

The health screening exercise helped to check the vitals of residents, test for Malaria and HIV among other diseases

Before the screening exercise, the group educated the residents on healthy living practices such as personal hygiene to help prevent common sicknesses including cholera.

The program was organized with the support o the International Healthcare Center and Cervical Cancer Awareness Unit.

The residents were given free insecticides, food and clothes after the health screening.

The 2019 Ahaban Mobile Shelter program, which is the 9th edition, was held with the support of All Saints Lutheran CDC, International HealthCare Center and Marina Supermarket.

Established in 2015, the Green Leaf Foundation holds the Mobile Shelter outreach program twice a month with the help of volunteers and healthcare workers.

The program has so far reached more than 1,900 people, especially children, in various parts of the country.

Besides its interventions in health, it undertakes other projects in education by initiating long term projects that will help achieve the general UN Sustainable Development Goals.
