miLife Insurance has paid its 61st GNAT Heritage Cashback Plan claim to Sarah Otabil at Abura Dunkwa in the Central Region.
She was the beneficiary of a payment worth GHc21,500.
Madam Otabil was the mother of Nancy Ewusi, a teacher at Methodist Primary A who was covered under the life insurance policy and recently passed away.
Her death was reported to miLife by the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) District Secretary.
Speaking to Citi News at the presentation ceremony, Benjamin Kwabena Nketsiah, Assistant General Manager of Distribution for miLife Insurance indicated that the policy, which is administered by GNAT and underwritten by miLife, currently provides death and total permanent disability cover for over 32,000 teachers across the country.
“We want to make life insurance simple and affordable for all so that people will gain trust in it. We believe in getting insurance to the doorsteps of our clients, and so we came here to pay the claim,” Mr. Nketsiah said.
According to him, individuals who are on the policy without making claims for a ten-year period will receive a total refund of their premium plus a 20% bonus.
Benjamin Nketsiah again encouraged teachers to sign unto the policy adding that miLife takes great pride in paying claims on time.
The GNAT Heritage Cashback Plan was developed as part of a partnership between miLife and the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) which commenced in 2017.
A total of GHS 1,213,320 in death claims have been paid so far.
