The National Association of Charismatic and Christian Churches has commiserated with the family of the late former President, Jerry John Rawlings.

In a statement signed by its chairman, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, the association noted that the contributions to development during the tenure of the late Jerry John Rawlings “cannot be ignored”.

The Association further condoled with Rawlings’ family, adding that they can always count on their prayers.

“We identify with his grieving family, especially his widow and children, as well as with all Ghanaians, and express our heartfelt condolences to every grieving heart. Our prayer is that the God of all Grace and strength will fill their lives and hearts with all the comfort and strength they will need in these trying times. The family and nation can count on us and our prayers.”

Jerry John Rawlings died in the early hours of Thursday, November 12, 2020, at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.

He passed on barely a month after he buried his mother Madam Victoria Agbotui.

Our hearts are filled with sorrow on hearing the news of the passing away of our former president, the first president of the Fourth Republic, His Excellency Jerry John Rawlings.

His Excellency, J.J Rawlings was a charismatic leader and game-changer as the longest-serving leader in the history of Ghana, his tenure of office and contribution cannot be ignored.

In this most difficult period in the life of his family and our nation at large, we identify with his grieving family, especially his widow and children, as well as with all Ghanaians, and express our heartfelt condolences to every grieving heart.

Our prayer is that the God of all Grace and strength will fill their lives and hearts with all the comfort and strength they will need in these trying times.

The family and nation can count on us and our prayers.
