Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Odododiodoo, has expressed strong reservations about the Electoral Commission (EC), likening it to the ‘devil.’
His comments come in response to the EC’s decision not to disclose the serial numbers of the Biometric Voter Registration kits used in the current limited voter registration exercise across the country.
In a discussion on The Big Issue on Citi TV with Selorm Adonoo, Mr Vanderpuye questioned the EC’s credibility, citing what he perceives as questionable practices.
He further stated that, in his view, the EC has consistently failed to act appropriately.
“Why shouldn’t I mistrust this EC. This EC why shouldn’t I mistrust it? I will forever, I will never, [trust it] This EC is the devil itself.”
“The issue is that they have not done anything to make me see any righteousness about them,” he stated.
