The Institute of Public Relations (IPR) Ghana, will this evening, 16th July 2024, launch its 50th anniversary celebration at 6:30pm at the Accra City Hotel, (formerly Novotel).

The Minister of Information, Fatimah Abubakar is the Special Guest for the event. The Chairman of the National Peace Council is a Guest Speaker and the Chief Executive of the Ghana Association of Banks, John Awuah, is the Keynote Speaker. The President of IPR, Esther A. N. Cobbah, will discuss the Essence and Ethics of Public Relations.

The event brings together members of the Institute of Public Relations, government officials, private sector personalities, civil society organisations, amongst a host of   other stakeholders.

The 50th Anniversary celebration is under the theme “PR for value creation”, with a focus on ethical communication for peace in an election year.

The launch of the 50th Anniversary falls on World PR Day, with the week being declared as Annual IPR Ghana week. As part of the anniversary celebration, the Institute has lined up a number of activities to be rolled out throughout the country to help project the value that Public Relations brings to individuals, organizations, communities and countries. These activities start with the launch event this evening, followed by a community engagement on environmental conservation, Student’s time on Thursday and an evening of knowledge enhancement through humour for members of IPR Ghana. These activities make up the Annual IPR Ghana Week. Additional anniversary activities follow thereafter.

President of IPR Ghana, Esther A. N. Cobbah, says, “Members of IPR are really delighted to be celebrating 50 years of our Institute. For us, this is a good opportunity to further strengthen our Institute, deepen professional bonds and make even more impact nationally, continentally and globally. Join our celebration.”
