Kingsley Amoakwa-Boadu, a member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) legal team, has offered a fresh perspective on Energy Minister Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, better known as NAPO.

He has characterised NAPO as amiable, challenging the prevailing perception of him as arrogant.

NAPO, who has been confirmed as the running mate of NPP flagbearer Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has often been at the centre of public attention. His public comments have led many to label him as arrogant.

However, speaking on The Big Issue on Channel One TV, Amoakwa-Boadu refuted these claims and provided insight into Napo’s true character.

Amoakwa-Boadu highlighted that Napo is not only approachable and friendly but also deeply passionate about his work.

He emphasised Napo’s belief in clear communication, which is often mistaken for arrogance.

Despite his high-profile status and the responsibilities that come with it, Amoakwa-Boadu pointed out that NAPO remains humble and grounded.

He praised NAPO’s amiable nature, which he believes is truly admirable.

“When we are referring to him, he is so amiable that the convivial nature of it comes out. It is NAPO or senior. That is how it is. There is no formality because of how he relates to people.

“If you go to the Ministry, he relates to everyone in a very friendly manner. So, for us and a lot of people who know him when you say arrogance it doesn’t sit well with the kind of person we know,” he stated
