QNET launches anti-scam campaign to clamp down fraud, brand misrepresentation in Ghana

QNET, a 26-year-old lifestyle and wellness-focused direct selling company, on Wednesday, August 7, announced the launch of its “QNET Against Scams” campaign in Accra.

This six-month initiative aims to educate the public and raise media awareness about fraudulent activities misusing the QNET brand.

The comprehensive campaign will utilize multiple channels, including television, radio, online news portals, social media, print media, and billboards across Ghana.

The launch took place at the QNET Training Centre, operated by Bosumtwi Industries Limited, QNET’s local business partner in Ghana.

Ms Ramya Chandrasekaran, Chief Communications Officer for the QI Group, QNET’s parent company, condemned the activities of unscrupulous individuals preying on unsuspecting victims.

She expressed their readiness to clamp down on fraudsters by collaborating with security agencies.

“Despite our ongoing efforts, misconceptions about QNET persist in Ghana. Unauthorised individuals have been exploiting our brand name for illegal activities, deceiving people with false promises of jobs or travel opportunities abroad. Our campaign aims to aggressively combat this issue through public education.”

She admonished Ghanaians not to fall for fraudulent activities purportedly carried out in QNET’s name, advising them to report suspicious actions.

Ms Chandrasekaran outlined the campaign’s primary objectives: raising public awareness about QNET’s legitimate business operations, educating individuals on identifying and avoiding scams that misrepresent QNET, collaborating with law enforcement and government agencies to prosecute offenders, and reinforcing QNET’s commitment to transparency and ethical business practices.

“QNET is about empowerment, not exploitation. And we are fighting back against these scams,” she said.

Col. Rashid Salifu, Managing Director of Bosumtwi Industries, echoed this sentiment, emphasising the need for collective action.

“We must unite to fight against scammers who are defrauding innocent Ghanaians. Awareness is our most powerful tool in this battle.”

The “QNET Against Scams” campaign will focus on key regions, including Greater Accra, Ashanti, Eastern, Western, Ahafo, Volta, Northern, and Bono.

QNET urges the public to actively participate in this campaign by reporting any suspicious activities falsely representing the company. Reports can be made via WhatsApp at +233256630005 or email at [email protected].
