The Ghana Police Service has interdicted two police officers, Lance Corporal Philimon Agbevem and Lance Corporal Peter Gbadagbo, for allegedly extorting money from a motor pillion rider in Accra.

The incident reportedly occurred on July 22, 2024.

According to a brief police statement, the two officers were placed under immediate investigation on August 9, 2024, after the allegations, which went viral, caught the attention of police leadership.

A statement also confirmed that the officers are currently assisting with the investigation and will undergo the due process of the law.
