Members of the Fantasy Club of Daddy Lumba have pledged to use their social group to reach out to vulnerable communities and positively impact people’s lives.

As part of their social responsibility efforts, the group built and inaugurated a CHPS Compound at Nsuta-Amangoase to improve healthcare delivery in the Sekyere Central District.

Residents of Amangoase and neighboring communities have long faced the challenge of traveling great distances on poor roads to access healthcare services in Atonsu and Nsuta. The district has historically suffered from a lack of adequate health facilities and health workers, many of whom decline postings due to insufficient accommodation.

A few years ago, members of the Fantasy Club of Daddy Lumba visited the area and identified the absence of a health facility as a pressing issue for the community. In response, the group quickly mobilised its members to fund the construction of the CHPS Compound, which is expected to serve the Amangoase community and nearby towns.

In a speech read on behalf of the club’s president, Joe Antwi-Boasiako, it was stated that the project reflects the enduring legacy of Daddy Lumba, whose contributions to human development extend far beyond his hometown.

Antwi-Boasiako expressed optimism that the facility would meet the long-term healthcare needs of the people and have a lasting positive impact on their lives.

He further explained that the Fantasy Club of Daddy Lumba, established on September 29, 2019, consists of dedicated men and women who are passionate about Daddy Lumba’s music and personality. The group came together with the goal of preserving his legacy while making a positive impact on society.

The club has already achieved several milestones, including health screenings in Amangoase, feeding street children, and assisting individuals in need, with their crowning achievement thus far being the construction of the Amangoase health facility.

Antwi-Boasiako expressed his gratitude to Daddy Lumba, whose name and influence inspired the group to undertake the project. He also thanked the Odikro of Amangoase for securing the land, the club members for their contributions, and all other stakeholders for helping make their dream a reality.

Yaw Sorongo, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the group, encouraged other social groups to use their influence to make a positive impact on society.

The community was filled with joy during the inauguration ceremony of the facility. Sekyere Central District Chief Executive, Kingsley Kodua, praised the group for their contribution to healthcare delivery and directed the District Health Directorate to promptly post health personnel to the facility.

“On behalf of the Assembly, I commend the leadership and members of the Fantasy Club for this project,” he said.

Kodua also pledged the Assembly’s support to ensure the smooth running of the facility and urged the community to protect and make full use of it.

Sekyere Central District Health Director, Susana Nkrumah, expressed her deep appreciation to the club for the facility, which she said would significantly improve primary healthcare in the area.

She assured the club that personnel would be posted to the facility as soon as possible but stressed the need for stakeholders to equip it with the necessary medical equipment.

Both Nana Baah Boadi, the Odikro of Amangoase, and Nana Oppong Kyekyeku, a representative of the Paramount Chief of the Nsuta Traditional Area, thanked the Fantasy Club of Daddy Lumba for their efforts in establishing the health center.

They expressed their gratitude to Daddy Lumba and his family for inspiring the club to undertake the project.

The project, which cost over GH¢600,000, was named after Daddy Lumba’s father, J.K. Fosuh, who hails from the community.
