The Ghana High Authority has announced maintenance works on the Apedwa-Ejisu stretch of the Accra-Kumasi Highway to restore the pavement’s riding quality and improve safety and traffic flow.
The 160km Apedwa-Ejisu section is a critical highway that connects Accra to Kumasi and passes through key economic towns such as Bunso Junction, Anyinam, Konongo, and Ejisu.
The Highway Authority in a statement, noted that the maintenance activities are aimed at improving the riding quality of the road and extending its service life.
The Highway Authority acting on behalf of the Ministry of Roads and Highways, has informed the general public and motorists that some sections of the road will experience lane closure during the maintenance work.
Motorists are advised to expect reduced speeds and possible delays, but contractors will put in place adequate traffic management measures to ensure safe passage.
The authority has expressed gratitude for the public’s cooperation and also apologised for any inconvenience.
