The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has engaged with the Lotto Marketing Companies (LMCs) to reaffirm its dedication to its stakeholders and address their challenges in celebration of its annual Customer Service Month.
Addressing the media at the event structured around the theme, “Above and Beyond Customer Service”, the head of the Customer Service Department at the NLA, Judith Wilhelmina Kormley outlined the various activities and programs to actively engage with their stakeholders, to recognize their contribution and improve on their working relationship.
“NLA does not stand on its own. And so when it’s customer service month, we prolong it, even though internationally it’s a week, so that everybody will be impacted. What we are doing differently is that we are moving into the regions with some of the activities. For this year’s activities, we are taking the cooking competition to Koforidua. And the cooking competition is between the NLA, LMCs and our collaborators, to give back to society. And there’s a health walk as well”.
Ms Kormley further assured the LMCs of the NLA addressing their various challenges. “Just as I assured them at the engagement, every challenge, every problem they brought to us, little by little we will solve them. Any complaints they bring to customer service, our able team members will take it and solve it.”
Head of Corporate Affairs at NLA, Maame Kesewaa Dolphyne elaborated on the NLA’s achievements under the Good Causes Foundation, an establishment by the NLA, which aligns with the National Lotto Act Section (2) Clause (3) that seeks to provide for the needy in society.
“Four pillars were couched under it: education, health, youth and sports development, art and culture but when it becomes necessary, we support in other areas as well. With Education we support brilliant but needy students and help institutions with equipment like furniture, desks, sometimes we get them computers. We have also set up a computer lab for some schools.
“In the area of health, we support some institutions with medical equipment like incubators, hospital beds and any facilities they’ll need in the hospital that we can assist in. We also assist people who have medical illnesses that they need cash for. With people who face chronic diseases, when they write to us, we assist them.
Ms Dolphyne revealed that the doors of the NLA are open to any form of support from stakeholders.
Ace Journalist Oheneyere Gifty Anti and Queen mother of Akwamu Adumasa, Nana Serwaa Brakatu first appreciated the gestures of the Foundation for partnering up with the Gifty Anti Foundation to sponsor 150 pregnant women with bags of rice in Adafoah and providing sponsorship for vocational skills training for the youth of Adumasa though the Nana Serwaa Brakatu humanitarian fund.
As part of its engagement session, the NLA further cautioned the LMCs on symptoms of mental health disorders such as Gaming Addictions and measures to undertake when identified with a customer.
