Some fuel stations in parts of the capital have begun refilling their storage tanks in anticipation of a looming shortage of Petrol.
The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers Ghana (COPEC) previously reported a petrol shortage in various parts of the country, attributing it to supply disruptions caused by ongoing upgrades at BOST’s Apd, Kumasi, and Maami Wata facilities.
Following a visit by Citi News to fuel stations in areas such as Dome, Kwabenya, and Ashongman Estates, it was observed that some stations were still waiting for their storage tanks to be refilled.
A motorist, Eric Ahiavu, who was turned away earlier in the morning due to a lack of petrol at a station in Musuku, off Ashongman Estates, shared his experience with Citi News.
“I came to get petrol and I was told there is no Petrol available, so I don’t know what is going on, I have been Kwabenya Abom junction and they are also reporting the same issue, I don’t know whether it’s as a result of the elections that is causing the shortages.”
