The Minister for Finance, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, has hailed the commissioning of the Bank of Ghana’s new headquarters as a significant milestone in Ghana’s journey toward economic stability and financial integrity.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony on Wednesday, November 20, Dr. Amin Adam underscored the importance of the $250 million facility in enhancing the Central Bank’s ability to fulfil its mandate efficiently.

Dr. Amin Adam emphasised that the new headquarters is more than just an architectural marvel, it is a tangible representation of the government’s commitment to fostering a stable and resilient economy.

The Finance Minister also commended the government for prioritising investments in critical infrastructure that supports institutional efficiency. He noted that the new BoG headquarters reflects the administration’s broader vision of equipping public institutions with the resources needed to drive national development.

“This monumental edifice represents more than just a physical structure. It symbolises our nation’s commitment to economic stability, financial integrity, and progress.

“I acknowledge the critical role that the Central Bank plays in shaping our economic destiny. This new headquarters will therefore provide a conducive environment for the bank’s dedicated staff to execute their mandate with efficiency and effectiveness.”

The $250 million facility, which features modern amenities, advanced technological systems, and a design geared toward sustainability, is described as a new landmark in Accra’s skyline.

“The edifice consists of multiple blocks, including a towering main building, urban spaces, and amenities areas, all crafted to meet the operational and strategic needs of a contemporary central bank.

Dr. Amin Adam further highlighted the symbolic significance of the new headquarters in promoting financial integrity and progress. The structure, he noted, embodies the values of transparency, accountability, and excellence, which are central to the BoG’s mission.
