President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is set to confer National Honours and Awards upon distinguished recipients on Monday, December 30.
This ceremony marks a significant milestone as it represents the final major event of his administration before he transitions out of office.
The National Honours and Awards ceremony, to be held at the Accra International Conference Centre, is designed to celebrate individuals who have made outstanding contributions to Ghana’s development through selfless service and exceptional achievements.
It underscores the importance of national service and excellence, shining a spotlight on those whose dedication has profoundly influenced the country’s progress.
According to a notification letter signed by the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, nominees are required to arrive at the venue by 11 a.m. for the investiture.
The dress code for the occasion is formal or traditional attire, with recommendations including Kente, Fugu, or suits, reflecting Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and the ceremony’s dignified nature.
Nominees are also permitted to invite up to two family members to witness this prestigious event. Each nominee has received a personal invitation card, officially endorsed by President Akufo-Addo, to affirm their participation in the ceremony.
This event not only celebrates individual achievements but also emphasizes the enduring value of collective national pride and cultural identity.
