Ghana will hold a General Election on Sunday, December 7, 2024.

In anticipation of the crucial elections, Ghanaian passionate poet and insightful writer Clement H. Holloway has released a poem titled “Stand For Peace”.

Stand For Peace focuses on educating Ghanaians about the importance of maintaining peace during and after the elections.

Below is the Poem

Stand for Peace

“Hail to thy name, O Ghana,

To thee, we make our solemn vow:

Steadfast to build together

A nation strong in Unity;

With our gifts of mind and strength of arm,

Whether night or day, in the midst of storm,

In every need, whatever the call may be,…”

These are the words in our National Anthem;

Sadly, we never get to say them…

But that’s no excuse; no one is off the hook.

You, me, everyone… we all have a role to play in all of this,

So listen up, you citizen!

Hear my voice and let my words sink deep.

I’m no pastor, prophet or politician; so you can trust me,

Listen … please!

Ghana needs peace;

No need for gunshots, fistfights or greed,

Wisdom is the key.

Dear citizen,

I spent eternity in the solitude of my heart,

Writing this message just for you.

So please, listen to me and be wise;

Don’t allow politics to break our ties.

I don’t care if you’re NDC or NPP, it doesn’t matter.

We’re one people, one nation, one Ghana;

Irrespective of our political affiliations.

No party is better than the other…. No!

We’re just groups trying to serve the nation differently,

So please, let’s love one another and together say: ‘WE!’

My Name is Clem, and I STAND FOR PEACE.

#IStand4Peace
