A group of labour unions, known as the Forum, have appealed to President John Dramani Mahama to promptly set up a committee to probe the alleged infiltration of state institutions by political party hoodlums.

Some perceived disgruntled National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters have since the party’s victory in the 2024 General election invaded several state institutions including Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in parts of the country.

Chairman of the Forum, Isaac Bampoe Addo while condemning the act at a news conference in Accra urged political leaders to caution their members against any form of vandalism.

“The forum…condemns these acts which are putting our dear country in a bad light, locally and internationally, I hereby call on the police to act immediately on these acts of vandalism by these unidentifiable persons. We, therefore, appeal to President H.E John Dramani Mahama to immediately set up a committee to investigate this unlawful act and bring those found corporals to quo.”

He further advised the public servants to report any suspicious act to the police.

“We urge all Political parties to instruct their members and affiliates, from engaging in such destructive actions which only hurt professional innocent public servants in serving their nation diligently.
We call on all public servants and our members to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police.”
